How we can help

Three ways we help.

Most businesses start by training the team. Some already know where AI should go and want help to build it. Others want someone to own AI for them.

Build your team's AI capability

Practical, hands-on and safe from the first session.

  • AI Ready Series. Four practical workshops, run weekly, built around your work.
  • Governance & Policy. A policy your team writes and will actually follow.

Skills people use the next morning, your own AI policy and a shortlist of where AI could help.

$990 + GST per person, 4 to 10 people. Minimum 4 people ($3,960 + GST).

Put AI to work where it pays

Start with how the work is done, then improve it.

  • AI Discovery. The 5 Levers session and a ranked Opportunities Map.
  • AI Sprint. One workflow, built and tested on live work.
  • Discovery and Embed. Eight weeks building with your team, one live job at a time.
  • Bigger automations. When a job needs real code, our trusted developer partners build it. We lead the people side so it gets used.

A working workflow, a named owner, and a before-and-after measure that tells you whether it was worth it.

Pricing: POA.

How the Fractional AI Lead works
Why we do it this way

Start with how the work is actually done.

Once people understand what AI can and cannot do, and see it applied to their own work, they develop a new set of eyes.

Matt Crowther, The Adaptive Organisation

That is when people start to notice the repetitive tasks, the unnecessary hand-offs and the knowledge buried in one person's head. So we don't show your team a few clever tricks and leave. We build the confidence and judgement to spot an opportunity, give AI the right context, test what comes back and check it properly.

The Iron Man suit

The Iron Man suit

Matt describes working in a flow-state with AI as putting on an Iron Man suit.

At its best, it extends your thinking, helps you work through complexity, and gives you a level of capability that would otherwise take much longer to access.

Matt Crowther, co-founder · The Adaptive Organisation

The catch: "AI is not a silver bullet. It is an amplifier of ability. It can magnify good thinking and strong processes, but it can also magnify poor information, weak judgement and existing inefficiencies."

Capability that stays

If the exoskeleton comes off, can your team still stand?

"There is a big difference between using AI to augment our capability and gradually surrendering capability to AI."

New: Fractional AI Lead

Your AI lead, without the hire.

The senior hire who could own AI is scarce and expensive, and training fades without someone to drive it. We take the seat a few days a month, set the direction with you, build alongside your team and measure every gain. Need developers for the heavier automations? We bring in trusted technical partners and run the brief, so nobody on your side has to translate between the business and the build.

5 to 30 staff

You want to grow without adding headcount. We train your AI Champion and build the tools with them.

You need someone to own AI but can't justify or find the hire. You nominate a doer, we lead.

Thirty years inside New Zealand businesses, from superyacht builds at Alloy Yachts to operations manager at Sirtrack/Lotek (2009 to 2013) and general manager of First Light Farms, a grass-fed Wagyu business (2017 to 2020). So he's comfortable around things that are expensive to get wrong.

He wrote his Masters on how NZ SMEs can adopt AI with confidence, looking at how training design shapes trust and sustained adoption. One finding: in regulated work, a small dip in confidence after training is often a good sign. Healthy doubt is a skill.

Questions

Common questions.

What does CentaurAI do?

We help New Zealand businesses use AI well. That covers hands-on AI training, AI Discovery to find where AI pays, AI governance and policy, and ongoing AI support through a Fractional AI Lead. When a job needs real code, trusted developer partners build it and we lead the people side.

How much is AI training?

The AI Ready Series is $990 + GST per person for groups of 4 to 10 people, with a minimum of 4 people ($3,960 + GST). It is four practical workshops, run weekly, built around your work.

What does a Fractional AI Lead do?

We take the AI lead seat a few days a month. We set direction with you, train your own AI Champion, build workflows alongside your team and report measured gains. It is scoped as a monthly retainer, with a minimum 3-month engagement, and spaces are limited.

How does AI Discovery work?

Discovery takes three weeks. We run the 5 Levers session with your leaders, produce a ranked Opportunities Map and agree a named AI Champion. You then decide, on evidence, what to do next. Pricing is POA.

Do you build automations?

Yes, with partners. Smaller workflows we build with your team. When an automation needs proper software, trusted developer partners write the code and we lead the process, training and adoption.

Should we use Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?

It depends on your work, your existing systems and your risk settings. We train on the tools your team already uses and help you choose based on what you need, not on hype.

Do you work outside Hawke's Bay?

Yes. We are based in Hawke's Bay and work with businesses across New Zealand.

How do we get started?

Get in touch. Tell us a little about your business and Matt will come back with a sensible first move, usually within a working day.
